We took pictures as a class, but .... I'm so embarrassed. I'm huge. And not like in the i'm-a-white-girl-and-they're-japanese type way. I'm just... gross. So seeing that picture might send me into a hardcore diet/exercise program, or it might send me further down the road to obesity cuz I'm too depressed about it. BAH! Why have I DONE this to myself?? And just this last week I have started waking up early and I love it! I feel like I've wasted so much time when I could have gotten up a couple hours earlier and gone to Sendai for just a little while to get away from Ishinomaki and see the city. GAH!
Anyways, um, I saw Fall color today and that shocked me. Holy crow it's been a year.
OH! My students, Mayu and Naoki (sister and brother) came and gave me going away gifts. :*) Mayu drew a picture of me and it's crazy good~~ And Naoki made a clock that has his name and my name on it. Aww~ Like seriously, I don't want to leave now. And why couldn't my last months here been with the new teacher? I mean, he's actually ALIVE. And easy to talk to. These past few days I have really begun to appreciate Japan. Oh, and everyone wants to have dinner and lunch with me. AAAAck! I don't have enough time!!! /OoO
Well, dangit. I only have 18 days left in Japan, and 11 days in Ishinomaki. Got to make them count!!!!

man that flower arranging is so cool! I can't believe you have been there for a year either!
How wonderful - you've touched lives there in Ishinomaki. They will remember you for a long time. Make the most of every waking hour.
Love,
Mom
