I don't really like this picture of me, and I have one without myself, but people (Melissa) say that a picture is more interesting if it has you in it... so...there ya go.
I went on the Ishinomaki website and this is what they had to say about this place:
There were once two villages in Kitakami that had been arguing about the border between their villages for a long time. One day, a huge whale landed on the beach, close to the border. That night as they fought for possession of the whale, the headland split in two. They thought it was verdict from the Gods, and stopped the quarrel. Now it is a beautiful place with the waves washing rocks of the split headland.
Cool eh? Yeah! and then there were these cool rocks that jutted out:

Aaand I just felt another earthquake. It was longer than the other aftershocks yesterday, and stronger. I just looked it up and it originated in the same area, but it was a 5. Dang.

i don't know how i feel about you being around so many earth quakes... especially since what happened in china... JULIE BE CAREFUL! and don't stand on any cliff edges when earthquakes hit... okay?
What a beautiful place!!! Looking at the geology, one can almost believe the legend is true. I agree with Mel, gotta have people, especially you, in your photos!
