My taste has kind of changed since I've been in Japan. Yeah, I don't want second rate stuff anymore.... I want GOOD stuff! But the thing is along with wanting better clothes and things, my taste for food has also changed. Uh-oh..! And I think that's the reason for me not feeling like I want to eat much lately. It's because I'm sick of the same old junk! Wanna know how I figured this out? Well, check out what I had for lunch today:
First course: Shrimp and squid cold salad. SO GOOD. It had a mustard sauce and that white wrapped around it is Japanese radish. YUM. This also came with bread!
Second course: I'm not sure what the proper name for it is, but it was like a peach yogurt soup. Check out how it's placed on top of a glass bowl with ice water in it to keep it cool. DANG.
Third course: Chicken with a demi-gras sauce. Can you say "wow"???
Fourth course: Dessert! Peach ice cream made right there at the restaurant with fresh fruit!
Yeah. Um, this restaurant was REALLY nice. !!! It's a French restaurant inside a hotel in Ishinomaki. I went with Ryoko-san, and when we told the waiters we would be having the special "Ladies Lunch Course" we were moved to a nicer room with nicer chairs, tables, famous silverware and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Um, yeah, I was like, "I could DEFInitely get used to this!" I felt like royalty! :D But as much as I wished I could feel comfortable there, it was slightly awkward. But awesome at the same time! :)
I think I'm going to get a complex... People here love the heck outta me only because I'm tall, have "blue" eyes, and lighter hair. I keep telling them that back home, I'm nothing special, but they don't believe me! BAH!
Anyway, the point I was trying to make was that in my time here I've eaten some really nice food, and I don't like going back to the normal stuff. Great. Hmmm!

Oh my, what a lunch, and what a place! Your book needs to be published soon, and it needs to be the next big book craze so you can sustain that kind of food every day! :-D
I'll beg to differ that you're "nothing special" over here. But I'm yer dad, so I can't tell you that you have a distinct beauty, and even a little mystery, about you.
Well, back to my double cheeseburger!
Love,
Dad
