Ueno

So today I decided to hang around Ueno Park, which is like Central Park I guess, because it's the biggest park in Tokyo? There are a lot of museums and a pond and a zoo. It's pretty cool!

Only in Japan (probably) will you find a pagoda in a zoo. Haha, that was cool! I only went to the zoo because 1) I was bored; 2) I had nothing else to do; 3) It is in Hanadan; 4) I felt like it!

"Lesson Panda"!!!!!!! hahahaha, this is the main reason why I went to the zoo. Because Doumyouji can't read! haha awwww~ (It says, "Lesser Panda")

Me and "The Thinker." OH. AWESOME. I went to the art museum in Ueno Park, and there were about 5 Rodin sculpture casts in the garden.

This is a pretty good shot, I think ^^

Some other paintings that I saw inside that I LOVED were Renoir's "Woman With a Hat"

The colors are AMAZING. That picture in the link does NOT do it justice. In real life, there are just so many pearly colors that are mixed and swirled together. Holy CROW, I was in awe.

Also, Monet's "Water Lilies"

SO pretty! Again with the colors! Pictures of paintings never get it right. You have to BE there in front of it. Like, I actually SAW the big brush strokes of the Impressionistic style, and the texture of the painting with dabs of paint sticking out. It was beautiful! I just sat there and looked at it, and it's huge so there's a lot to see!

I'm imagining you, like Lizzie (?) in P & P in Mr. Darcy's conservatory, awestruck by what she sees.

Love the pictures!

Love you too!
